Testimonials

"The QHHT session with Rachel brought me into a deep place within myself where I had access to insights and awarenesses I would not have had otherwise,  It was deeply validating and healing for my soul’s journey.  Rachel has a deeply kind, compassionate and loving presence and I felt safely guided by her presence and her insightful questions.  I can’t wait to do another session to continue the adventure of learning and growing!"

"I can’t say enough positive things about Rachel and my QHHT session with her!  My experience was absolutely life changing.  I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for our session, and for all of the insight and healing I’ve gained.  Rachel is a gifted healer and an absolute gem of a person, and I will recommend her from the bottom of my heart to everyone I know!"

"For decades I have struggled with anxiety. As a generation X male, I have been told to “suck it up” and “just relax”. Though I have managed over the years to suppress many of my feelings, and effectively hide my struggles with anxiety from the world, I have always believed that someday I would find help. Never did I imagine that most of the answers were inside me, waiting to be freed.

Rachel’s QHHT Therapy Session was a revelation. Her confident yet soothing voice guided me on a journey within my mind, unlocking suppressed trauma and providing helpful tools which allowed me to address and begin to heal from years of abuse. After the session I felt energized and happy, as if a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Though I have more work to do, I’m very happy to have found a partner in Rachel to help me uncover some of the answers within me, and look forward to working with her in the future. I highly recommend Rachel to anyone looking to heal from within."

"I expected to receive some fine tuning on my well-developed ideas of nutrition and health. I recognized a constant battle of stress-eating, cycles of sugar-craving vs. salty-crunchy ‘needs’, and knew that I needed some expert help.

What I didn’t expect was the ”WHOLE”-ness of my experience in the time I spent with Rachel. I am calmer, happier, sleep better, more energetic, and - surprisingly for “type A” me- more tolerant of former ‘irritants’ and stressors. Oh yes, and pounds lighter!

I’ve discovered new ways to think about myself and my interactions with others…and it honestly seemed so effortless. I can feel the ‘clean’ effect of balance and calm.

I love the freedom of just choosing a balance of the right foods and not focusing on calories, points, grams of anything, and I’ve enjoyed being introduced to so many new foods.

I consider it a privilege to share my assessment of Rachel as a health coach. My experience in her program was nothing short of awesome. She is excellent in her approach and style - an incredibly effective combination of educator and nurturer.

I’m proud of the work I accomplished under her guidance, and thrilled to have taken this ‘leap’ to honest, comprehensive self-care."

"Having Rachel as a health coach was a rich, rewarding experience. Rachel is open-minded, patient, and flexible. Her methods are not prescriptive or forceful, but gently guiding. It is evident in her practice that she deeply cares about her clients’ success and wellbeing.

Despite my being a relatively informed and conscious person, working with Rachel opened my eyes to new ideas and options that are helping me become a healthier, happier person in mind, body, and spirit.

During the time I was working with Rachel, I went through some large life changes. Where these changes might have otherwise opened the door to unhealthy patterns, I was able to use them to establish new and health patterns. The tool box she provides is vast, and I know I will keep going back to it for years to come.

Thank you Rachel for all your listening, understanding, and guidance!"

"When I first met Rachel, I had just decided that it was finally time to make some changes in my life. I had fully recovered from a life changing condition which ended with surgery, and knew that now was the time to achieve a healthy, body, mind, and spirit. I assumed that Rachel would be like any other food coach and would advise me on proper diet – all the “should” and “should-nots.” Boy was I wrong! Rachel’s coaching is holistic in every sense of the word. Yes, she discusses food and diet, but her coaching goes so much deeper than that. She guides you on a path to find your inner joy, if you choose to follow. Her approach is gentle and loving and one can clearly see the passion she has for her work. She makes seemingly overwhelming life changes appear manageable and accessible.

If you are ready to make a positive change or even if you just think you might be ready, then I urge you to contact Rachel!"

"I came to Rachel with a pretty good knowledge of using food as nourishment and a way to heal my chronic candida. Rachel helped me to take something that at times felt very lonely and overwhelming to a place where I now feel that I have better control over myself and my health in a manageable way. She introduced me to new foods and new ways to enjoy the food I had already incorporated into my diet. I consider her not only a "health" coach, but a life coach as well! She helped me to start to move past a place of real fear and into a more loving and courageous place in my life. I am so grateful for my experience with Rachel. She is warm, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and sincere. I truly feel like I've made a friend in her and recommend her to anyone who could use a little guidance in becoming your true, authentic self!!"

-Renee

"I admit, when I started working with Rachel, I was a skeptic. I wanted to take on my addiction to sugar, but felt that I knew all the dieting rules. I was wrong. Rachel introduced me to so many new foods and ways to think about what goes in the body. I never thought it would be possible, but half-way through the program, I eliminated soda from my diet and it wasn't even difficult! Working with her was fun and really did change my day to day life and well-being."

-Sandy

"I met Rachel the day my mom was having triple by-pass surgery. Diabetes and Heart Disease run in my family and are potentially in my future. I decided to take the next step towards a healthier lifestyle by working with Rachel as my health coach. From mindful eating to meditation, gomasio to adzuki beans, Rachel taught me about food, letting go of fear and really taking care of myself, community and universal spirit. I've lost 22 pounds so far and even though my sessions with Rachel are done, I still incorporate what I've learned every day and I know she is there for me should I have questions or concerns.

Thanks Rachel; what you've taught me has changed my life for the better."

"Rachel has been a source of inspiration to me. For the past three years the high level of stress in my life has brought on many health challenges in addition to extra weight.

Even though I have always eaten what I considered healthy food I also consumed many unhealthy foods, which contributed to my health issues. I met Rachel at her seminar on 'Gaining Control Over Sugar & Stress' and knew after meeting her and listening to the information she provided that I wanted to work with her. I have learned so much during the time I spent with Rachel. I now cook healthier meals, have more energy, more clarity and vitality. I have noticed changes in my tastes and am getting my cravings under control. I have fewer symptoms related to health concerns. I make better food choices and read labels…something I have never done.

I even joined a CSA and am now enjoying organic local produce every day. I continue to incorporate the things she helped me see about how to live healthier, improve my relationships, and treat myself with more kindness and grace.

This program has been life changing and one of the best things I have done for myself in years.

Rachel…you strike a balance between professionalism and your beautiful spirit."

"When I first went to see Rachel Volk, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

A consummate stress eater and junk food junkie, I was finding that the foods I had come to love and depend on for so many years were compromising my health and I wanted to change.

Although I have spent years studying diet and health I could never seem to adopt any beneficial long-term practice. It wasn’t just the food that I was eating but my deeply rooted belief system and unbreakable habits around food that made it so difficult to change.

What I found in Rachel was a compassionate practitioner dedicated to walking me through those difficulties while reinforcing the principles of whole living, not just whole eating, as the basis for a healthy lifestyle.

Her program is unique in its approach, comprehensive and exciting to follow. When I fell off track, which I did often, I could call or email Rachel at anytime and she would be there for encouragement. Slow and steady, she inspired me to keep going.

Since starting her program I have more energy and focus. I cook more and concern myself with good, solid food choices. I am on less medication and have started living more creatively.

Nothing seems unattainable now.

Although my six-month program has just ended, I feel like my journey has just begun. Thank you Rachel!"

"The MetroWest Health Program completely changed me and my lifestyle. I am eating better quality food, and, most important, I am aware of what I am eating: source, ingredients, etc. I eat mostly home cooked meals (which I did not do before). I buy new types of food and I add greens to each meal. I started yoga classes, and I feel better and stronger. I spend more time outside. And I have Rachel to thank for all of that."

"During the Fall of 2010, in the midst of moving, my life was in upheaval and my eating and food choices were out of control. It was then that a friend referred me to Rachel Volk for nutritional coaching. Now, I was skeptical because I have done all kinds of programs and diets over the years. I wanted to learn how to eat healthy for life, not just to lose weight. My initial fears were soon put to rest as Rachel demonstrated her knowledge and compassion and her commitment to long-term changes.

In addition to feeling better, my body stopped retaining water over time and when I stayed on track, I felt incredible. I discovered with Rachel's encouragement, that as I fed my body with joyful fun activities, it didn't need to be comforted with coke and cookies. In fact, I even forgot to eat sometimes. I have also discovered that I have an intolerance to gluten and dairy. When I cut them from my diet and ate clean for 2 months I lost almost 25 lbs. I now understand that the food I eat creates me, builds my body and soul. Most importantly, during this program, anytime I needed to talk to Rachel, she was right there. I called her once from Whole Foods in a panic. She helped me calm down and shop for the right foods. I think her compassion is my favorite of her many attributes.

Now that I am finished with the program, I am actually cooking as part of my new job. I am sharing my wisdom with others and am amazed at how much I know! I am smarter, stronger, and healthier than I ever was then. I have the wisdom of years and the energy of 21. Do I recommend Rachel to be your guide through learning to have a healthy lifestyle? You bet, 100%. Thanks Rachel, I am forever grateful!"

-Kristin

"All my life, I've wanted to meet someone who would help me lose weight, curb my food cravings and get rid of my IC (Interstitial Cystitis) pain, urgency and frequency which I've endured for over 35 years.

During these years, I saw many doctors, a physical therapist, an acupuncturist, a chiropractor; I also had Botox and different bladder treatments and was given medication of all kinds and strengths. Nothing helped. After 35 years, I finally found relief from the pain, the stress and the weight with Rachel, HHC (Holistic Health Coach).

I recommend her to anyone who needs help with their eating habits and health problems. After 6 months with Rachel, I am a New me. I'm really into Reverse Aging. No doubt about it. All you have to do is ask the Sisters who live with me.

Can she help you? You bet. Give her a chance and let her prove it to you."

"If you are like me and constantly fighting the sugar demons, then go see Rachel at Metrowest Health. She has given me the tools I need to break bad habits and her continued support has given me the strength to create new ones that will stay with me going forward. Her enthusiasm for her work is contagious and she’s a delight to work with.

Rachel, because of you I'm so much more aware of what I need to do to be healthy, both physically and mentally. Thank you!

-Marilyn

"I have always been in decent physical health, but in winter 2011 it became apparent that my eating and exercise habits needed to change. My entire lifestyle needed to be curbed in a different direction so my family recommended that I go see Rachel. Six months later I can say that I am a happier, fitter person after working through the program.

Rachel exposed me to new and exotic foods that I now incorporate into my diet instead of eating foods loaded with sugar. I am more aware about where my food comes from, especially animal products, and I never eat meat from the major meat packing industries. My negative thinking patterns and self-defeating attitude was slowly turned into a more realistic and positive outlook on life in general. Rachel also helped to realize how routine exercise is integral to physical and mental health, and I am in better physical shape now than at any previous point in my life. Thanks Rachel!"
